5. Talk to your kids and let them know your divorce is not because of them and that you will never ever leave them alone. Don’t allow your kids to feel the pangs of separation, no matter how unavoidable it is.

6. The easiest thing to do is to get angry and destroy correspondence from wife. STOP! This can be your greatest ally in a court of law. Keep all correspondence no matter how trivial it may seem.

7. This one is a tough one! Don’t make negative comments about your wife to anyone. You never know who will tell a friend , who tells someone else and soon you get a lawyers letter telling you that you’ve been spreading rumors, and that my friend will cost you!.

8. Don’t be aggressive, remain calm. If your wife is an aggressive person, avoid getting into arguments with her.

9. You will need some emotional support, don’t be afraid to use friends and family to help you through this difficult time.

Divorces are not nice and they can get very nasty. Your wife will unfortunately be in the driving seat when it comes to a settlement.
